I started to learn English at the age of 13, in the junior high school. Since then, I have been studying English for so many years. I graduated from a university in US, and have been using Enligsh in my previous jobs. Now, I am a freelance translator. BUT, I still sometimes feel English is very difficult. It is true that only native English speakers know the real nuance of many words. I could say it is a mystery of the language.
When I translate something, I need to be like an actress. I need to feel out an original intention of an author or a writer and to understant what he/she really wants to say. Then I try to find best expressions to mean the original intention. Sometimes two languages don't have exact matching words. Then I try to find words that mean as close to the original intention as possible. It is how translation is.
